OUR STORY OFEMPOWERMENT
Born from a belief that every girl's voice matters, Dua Ya Dada creates safe spaces where stories become catalysts for transformative change.
How It All Started
Our Beginning
Dua Ya Dada was born from witnessing the untold stories of girls in underserved communities. We recognized that while girls faced numerous challenges—from limited educational opportunities to gender-based violence—their voices were often unheard in conversations about solutions.
We believed that storytelling could be more than entertainment; it could be a powerful tool for advocacy, healing, and social transformation.
Our Approach
We intentionally embed performance arts—including storytelling, spoken word, drama, music, dance, and visual art—into all our programs. This isn't just about creative expression; it's about giving girls the tools to articulate their experiences and advocate for change.
When girls are given safe spaces and creative tools, they become powerful advocates for themselves and their communities.
Our Impact Philosophy
Through Performance & Digital Arts, Girls:
- Highlight and amplify their challenges and lived experiences
- Challenge harmful norms, myths, and stigmas around SRHR, menstrual health, education, and GBV
- Build confidence, leadership, and agency to engage with decision-makers
We Enable Communities To:
- Engage in meaningful dialogue about sensitive issues
- Use art as a bridge between girls' voices and broader conversations
- Create lasting change through creative advocacy
